My Subconscious

I have a very lovely friend, Susan Tuma, who is an excellent dream interpreter. When I have a dream I believe has spiritual meaning, and I’m not quite sure about the symbols, I ask her. She’s always very helpful (and funny). I had a dream last night that was quite literally one of the best dreams I’ve ever had.

It was also hilarious enough to share. Feel free to take a crack at the symbology because something tells me we won’t need Susan to help us out with this one.

Here is the dream I was having when I woke up this morning:

I am standing in a big festival type park atmosphere with huge green trees (Think Loose park). I am super skinny, like Jennifer-at-the-height-of-dancing skinny. Wicked in shape. I mean, I LOOK AMAZING. I am wearing a tshirt that I actually own and is meant to be a dress, but thanks to some post baby poundage (and having a long torso) I wear in real life as an actual shirt. In the dream I am wearing it as it’s meant to be worn, as a super awesome shirt dress.

That shirt looked SLAMMING as a dress. Not to toot my own (dream) horn.

In my hands I am holding the most beautiful peanut butter and jelly sandwich you have ever seen. Nice scrumptious layer of peanut butter (a food I love and haven’t had since I started Weight Watchers), dripping with raspberry preserves, lovely spongy white bread. It’s cut into the perfect triangular sandwich shape. I am loving it, and making sure I don’t drip on my awesome shirt/dress.

So there I am, all skinny and in shape, eating my awesome sandwich and Johnny Depp walks up to me. But not like Captain Jack Sparrow Johnny Depp. Think 21 Jump Street Johnny Depp. Yeah I know, it’s hilarious…

“Excuse me,” he says, “I’m sorry to bother you, I don’t usually do this sort of thing to strange girls, but I think you are quite literally one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Do you ever think of acting?” I smiled and said not really, and kept eating my sandwich. “Well,” he responds, “So you don’t act, do you go for walks? I’d love the company.”

Yes. My dream is being skinny, eating peanut butter and (apparently) going for walks with strange men. I only post this because anyone who knows me AT ALL knows I am totally devoted to my husband and in no way condone or testify to having crushes on men you aren’t married to. But sometimes dreams are so funny you have to share. Never let it be said we aren’t interested in honesty here at justeastofwest.

  1. Oh Annie, I got a whole lot of honesty I could tell ya. 🙂 Whatever that means?

Hey Caden gets to come with me to my meetings tomorrow afternoon because Aaron got called in on his day off. So we’ll stop in and say hi!

  2. I once had a dream that Johnny Depp proposed to me and I don’t even really like him lots in real life. I mean, not like THAT. He’s too short and smokes french cigarettes.

But apparently we are dream-crushing on the same guy. Ah, sisterhood.

  3. That new John Dillinger movie that comes out on the first looks AWESOME.

I mean, it has Johnny Depp AND Christian Bale. Can the big screen serve up that much eye candy in one sitting? I vote YES.

Meghan- Apparently we do. He just cleans up SO WELL….
