Well there you go. Ten posts in one day. Impressive, eh? I couldn’t have done it without the help of my lovely wife, of course.
If you are wondering what I’m talking about track back here and work your way up.
Happy 10,000th Hit Ten-iversary Post-tacular!

This is, of course, Aaron. And these are two of the dumb things I’ve done in the past 48 hours. (more…)

If there is one thing the Christian walk is abundant in it is analogies. They can be the best tool for describing and aspect of the faith. Have you read the Gospels? C. S. Lewis has had his share of great ones. A good analogy can make or break a sermon.
The trouble lies, however, in the poor ones. (more…)

I was just outside, and wasn’t miserable in the heat! I was inspired to write a post about the glorious home town that, while I don’t totally love it, does treat me well.
Top Ten Reasons I love Kansas City:
1. Jack Stack. Oh the glory of midwest bbq.
2. It’s where I first saw my husband, sitting by a pool, with shoulder length hair, wispy facial hair, and very white legs. I remember going “huh, so this is my future husband. Weird.”
3. IHOP. Not pancakes, prayer. I might not be able to be there all the time but I sure love the prayer room being there 24 hours a day for me!
4. My job. I work with fun people, and make money I am proud to earn.
5. Super Target, Super Walmart, Super everything. It’s ALL bigger in the Midwest.
6. Real snow. I might not like driving in it, but it sure is perty to have snow in the Christmas season.
7. Cheap cost of living. I compared prices with a friend in Seattle, his 1200 square foot, 3 bedroom apartment is 1550 a month. My two bedroom, two bath 1200 sq. ft. apartment is less than half of that.
8. No traffic. It takes almost no time to get anywhere, and we only have bad traffic on Nascar days, during rush hour, or if Wal-Mart is having a sale.
9. Friendly folks. People here meet your eyes and smile back when you say hi.
10. Midwestern men are men! They open doors, they help you carry things, they call you ‘miss’ when serving you. None of that wimpy, organic granola eating, sensitivity class taking hippy man stuff for me! Smell like you’ve been out doing manual labor, carry my stuff and call me honey!

A friend of mine in highschool once wrote an entire Chemistry paper in Haiku, or triplets of 5,7 and 5 syllables respectively. Another friend of mine, to this day, writes me a haiku in the end of every email. In honor of this momentous occasion, I give you, my favorite readers (you know who you are!) a Ten-niversary Post-Tacular Haiku.
Ten Thousand hits here!

Your comments say yes.
I toast to the memory of those who read the words we write, ignore us when we are stupid/silly, encourage us with awesome and humorous comments, and point out all the spelling and punctuation mistakes.

Speaking of other things I like spending time doing:
1. Reading fark.com at work. I don’t leave comments, I just love the descriptor lines.
2. Writing poetry and short stories. I do this completely for myself. It’s a plus if other people think it’s groovy.
3. Teasing my husband. He always has such great reactions. (I am stealing your snoozes!!!!)

4. I enjoy playing Scrabble. Hardcore. No Dictionary.
5. Reading. I am a huge reader. I read the entire Harry Potter Series in 2 weeks.
6. Hanging out with my friends. Some of my favorite friend memories are just going over to someone’s house, and laying on the floor.
7. Cooking. I hate to clean up though. That’s where Aaron comes in. I wish I had a live-in sous chef.
8. Playing the Wii. How could I forget the Wii?! I have never been sorer after watching tv.
9. Being outside. I would hike, bike, walk and run outdoors more here, if I didn’t risk severe heat stroke every time.
10. Posting on this blog. I love the comments you leave the best!

This is a post that is built around the title. I just couldn’t resist.

Not listing as in leaning slightly to one side. Listing as in, LET’S MAKE LISTS! Organizational people like me love lists. Here is ten other things about me you probably didn’t know. (I know, how conceited to make the first post about myself, when it’s you, the readers, who have made our Ten-niversary Post-tacular possible, but it’s really early, so cut me some slack.)
These might not all make great sense, be very appropriate, or be funny at all. That is your disclaimer. (more…)
