Father’s Day: The Father’s Remix

June 24, 2009 · 6 Comments

Hey gang, it’s a rare post from Aaron. I just had to brag (a tad late) about my wife. On Father’s day Jennifer let me sleep in. Granted I woke up at 6:45 but that’s more a function of working morning shifts at Starbucks again. When you regularly wake up at 4 am 7 feels like Christmas morning.

Jennifer surprised me with a great gift too. Joe McNally’s new book: The Hot Shoe Diaries. Contrary to what you are thinking right now Joe McNally is not a shoe designer, he is a photographer. His book is all about flash photography. I’ve been trying to find it for a few weeks now. Jennifer called all over town and found a Borders that had it in stock.

We went to the roasterie and played scrabble. I had some pretty killer father’s day luck and smoked Jennifer (it’s ok, I have had some pretty humiliating losses at Backgammon. I haven’t beaten her once). When we got home she manned the Squeakster and I was able to get a good chunk of editing done.

And of course she made dinner. Jennifer left it up to me to pick the victuals and so she cooked a mean herb-smothered flank steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Made for a good lunch the next day.

I love you sweetheart. You know how to make a guy happy to be a dad.
