I am a bit concerned that my last two posts have gone sans comment. I mean, not like my ego is wrapped up in whether or not you people think I am witty enough to say something about it. It’s not. It’s more like I am concerned that you all have fallen pray to some sort of horrible stomach virus and are unable to reach your keyboards.
I worry about you, that’s all. (more…)

Just a fast early morning post on something worth really posting about! A HUGE congratulations to the Loux family, who are ADOPTING AGAIN!
They are adopting a beautiful 3 (ish) year old boy named Aiden from Eastern Europe. Aiden has Downs Syndrome and a heart valve defect, and the Loux’s are very excited about bringing him home!
You must go check out the details HERE on the special blog Tracie started to document their journey. When I found out at work, I freaked OUT I was so excited! I can’t wait to meet the new member of their family!
Go check it out, and leave them a comment!

The title doesn’t mean a darn thing other than everyone around me is obsessed with politics right now. I unfortunately have never been one of those people who gets all fired up about politics and politicians. I just don’t care. I mean, I am registered to vote, and plan to, so don’t call me socially irresponsible. I just don’t really feel like carrying on long conversations about who McCain’s VP pick is. Even if it IS a girl. Even if she can fish. Even if she does drive teams of huskies to and from work. Ok I made that last one up.. (more…)

Aaron and I only get a few clear channels. On one of them, they are doing this kinda fun show where people learn to do these hideously dangerous jobs, like crab fishing. It’s a chance for the network to combine what are probably very high rated shows, such as the Deadliest Catch, and Ice Truckers.
After watching 5 minutes of it, I’ve learned that crab fishing does appear to have a dangerous learning curve… (more…)

Aaron found the original Rat Pack Oceans’ 11 on tv. The title is a line that I just heard. It sounded like a good title to me. Probably because I just woke up from a nap.
Oh yes, it’s been a very exciting Sunday! We journeyed to the beautiful Wal-Mart and procured groceries. Man I don’t like shopping there, but you can’t beat the prices. We must have saved about 40 bucks. It’s downright wonderful, and depressing at the same time. That might be the lighting in there though.. (more…)

Well, I’m 25 today (this is Aaron). I woke up to an adorable Happy Birthday message from my wife on the whiteboard on my fridge. I’m so old.
Fun story: I asked Jesus to buy me a birthday cup of coffee and when I got in line the guy ahead of me offered to pay for my drink. I hadn’t even told him it was my birthday. I’m drinking it now.
Well, as a 25 year old I thought I’d share a little wisdom with you. (more…)

It’s been a slow day. Not slow slow, just slow. You get the idea. Today is supposed to be house cleaning day, but I somehow talked myself out of it. I somehow convinced myself that tomorrow was a much better day to scrub and do laundry, since Aaron will be gone doing Omega class q/a until noon. Whatever. It made sense in my head. (more…)

Those that are close to us know that Aaron and I have had an incredibly difficult month financially, and it’s not just us. Being the kind of folks that love miracles, WE BELIEVE that God is good, and we want to see him pour out His goodness and provision on us, and our friends. We have an awesome testimony of His greatness, and I know the Ferguson’s do as well. This post, from Chris Ferguson’s blog, a really amazing friends of ours. Awesome people who moved from Seattle to come and serve the Lord and who are having a budget crisis this month. Please read it all, pray with them, and donate if you can.

Most of you realize that as Staff with the International House of Prayer, we are required to raise our own financial support. We are not paid a traditional salary, but like overseas missionaries we rely upon the generous support of friends, family, and fellow believers who sometimes don’t even know us personally. God is gracious and generous to us and most of the time we find ourselves overwhelmed and amazed by the means of His provision…. (more…)

I may live in the Midwest folks, but contrary to what the clerk at the grocery store thinks, I am NOT white trash. I got married, THEN got pregnant, and in that order. And not everyone who is under 35 is a binge drinker, or a drinker at all. Laying the foundation for the story folks…..
Here’s the story of buying groceries… (more…)

In our past few posts Jennifer and I have described a little bit about what we do in the house of prayer. I mentioned that I usually pick apart books without reading them straight through. This is more indicative of my personality than I let on. (more…)
