I actually do art things sometimes. (Who get’s the reference in the title?)
Thanks to my family, I have some art stuff now, and can paint things. I know this post is painfully short, but just so you know, Aaron is taking me to Michaels tonight to buy the canvas I need to do a painting based on this….

It’s a portion of an old china pattern. Think grandmas’ plates. This amazing place, called China Baroque takes pottery, break’s it, and makes it into jewelery. They will also take your broken heirloom china, and custom make pieces for you so you can keep on passin on those heirlooms!
I seriously desire a ring from here, but can’t afford them. Still, I will be doing this painting in indigo and white, instead of black and white. Stayed tuned, and when I am done, I will have Aaron post a picture.

So here’s the deal. I wear my Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars (aka All-Stars, aka Chucks, aka Chuck T’s, aka Converses, aka sweet kicks) basically all the time. Pretty much the only times I don’t wear them is when I jog of have to work outside. They are just awesome. Flat rubber sole, black canvas, metal caps for the shoelace holes and, of course, white rubber toe. I wore my last pair (semi-literally) into the ground and got a new pair for Christmas (thanks mom and pop-in-law).
I wore them right out of the box, after lacing them with the scheme that (in my opinion) all Chucks ought to be laced. I broke them in right away and they got to come everywhere I went. However if you were to run into me today and check out my shoes you would tragically find me chuck-less. The reason for is that I have developed “Converse heel.” (more…)

My friend Rosalynne is listening to a guy play the 1812 overture on the Harmonica in Carnegie Hall. Wow. What kind of kid dreams about playing the harmonica in Carnegie Hall? What kind of amazing human achieves that kind of dream? I wish I had the link for you. I bet it’s on YouTube.

It was a weekend of appearance maintenance at the James household. Aaron and I have been working at making 2008 a year of New Beginnings, including on focusing our schedules, going to the gym, cooking healthier meals more frequently, and gaining weight (for Aaron) and losing weight (for me.) Now, I have to speak out immediately that I advocate safe, healthy weight loss through eating healthy (and often) and exercising. I do not support “diets”, crash, or otherwise, or excessive exercise to the point of exhaustion.
That said, My mom has this great strategy to motivate me, the clothes horse, towards a figure I feel to be healthier than the weight I was at two weeks ago. For every pound I lose, I get ten bucks, but I don’t get to spend any money until I’ve lost 5 pounds.
Well, I went to Legends (the awesome outdoor mall up north) with my fabalously hawked husband, and spent 60 bucks yesterday! (more…)

This week has dissapeared. I feel like everytime I turn around, I am laying in my warm, fluffy bed, and my alarm is shrilling yelling that it is time to go back to work.
Aaron and I kind of gave each other a high five on my way out, and his way in the door last night. He had a late night working at IHOP (prophecy rooms) and I had to leave to go for a info meeting about the coolest thing ever. (more…)

Track with me, I’ll explain the title in a second. I feel like I have not written anything in a while. This upsets me, because I enjoy blogging, yet for some reason have been ridiculously busy at work the past few days. I know, and it’s only Tuesday.
Not with standing my husband being confused for a woman, it was a great weekend. We watched movies, I took my friend Pam for pedicures and some shopping, and generally did the stuff I enjoy doing on weekends, that is to say, a whole lot of nothing. (more…)
