If you haven’t noticed by now I/we are not real big on politics. It’s such a big foggy, murky, unpleasant mess that I try to steer clear. I’m not against discussing politics as long as it doesn’t cross the line into angry criticism (this is what I mean, it is an old post, one of my first actually, so pardon my longwindedness) I can just find other subjects that I would rather dwell on, talk about or blog about (there are some cool blue hedgehogs out there).
However, this upcoming election is un-ignorable. Rick Joyner, in his message this past Sunday made the statement that this will be THE most important election since the 1860’s and that each election will become more and more important from here on out.
In all likely-hood you have a grasp on what’s going on and what’s at stake but just for the record here’s what will be influencing mine and and my wife’s vote: Top of the list, no doubt, is abortion. We will not, under any circumstances, vote for anyone who is not staunchly against abortion.
What I find remarkable is how abortion has undeniably become the center issue of this election and I think that this is 100% the Lord’s doing. It has come and plopped itself down smack dab in the middle of everything and forced this country out of the gray area and into one camp or the other. Anyone else having a flashback to High School American History? We can’t geographically divide the country quite as cleanly as the issue of slavery did in the 1860’s but the political, social and moral divisions are every bit as strong as any state line ever was.
Watch these things heat up. Though as hot as things get this election will not be the boiling point. This issue will nither be settled nor disappear whatever the outcome of the upcoming election.
Vote for Life, pray for Life.
I thought my father-in-law’s quote for today very appropriate.
“There’s a stronger smell of danger and lies and magic and treason about this land than I’ve ever smelled before. We need to keep our eyes and ears open.”

Maybe before the elections the state will actually get me registered to vote. Before the last state elections they denied me and if I was to imagine a conspiracy I would say it was because I am Conservative.
Silly silly gov’t.

I am not really a politics guy either but you should check out Mike Huckabee – he talks about Jesus a ton and used to be a baptist pastor! He is gaining steam in all of the polls and is doing really well in Iowa right now… http://www.mikehuckabee.com
Also, you should add me to your blogroll

I am liking Mike too. On top of being a pastor he is also a Bassist. And quite frankly, isn’t it about time we had one in office?
About the you not on the blogroll situation, it was a mere oversight, I assure you. Consider it undersighted, er . . . remedied.

Meghan- It is because they know that if they gave you a voice, you would change the entire world. You would look lovely in the neat suit and pearls too.
Aaron- How could you leave Josh off our blogroll? I am ashamed of us. Hi Josh! I sat behind your parents at church on Sunday!

Have you read about Tancredo (Sp?) He’s incredibly vocal about ending abortion. Don’t know much else about him, but that’s enough to make me like anyone.

No I never have. You should post about him, and give us the run down…
