I missed the context but that’s what makes it so great.

And your Daily Simpsons Snippet (or DSS): “Look at those suckers, waiting to the last minute to file their taxes. They should be more like me, I filed my taxes over a year ago!”

On a more serious note. . .I was reading, as I often do, Shawn Blanc’s Blog and he posted about how he paused and considered the WHY behind his blogging. So, of course being the poser I am I paused and pondered the same thing.

Why do I blog. What are my goals? And what would/could/should I change.

After some consideration I came to the conclusion that I really like things the way they are. I am really pleased with the way things are in light of my goals for this blog. What are my aims? Well. . .

1. I want to laugh and make others laugh with/at/about me.

2. I want to connect with those I wouldn’t normally be able to.

3. I want Jennifer to be able to connect with all of y’alls too.

4. I want to be able to encourage and be encouraged through the occasional serious post.

5. I want to be able to share scriptural insights and theological ideas.

If you’ve been following along for a while you know that the first four are quite common here. I was thinking about the fifth and what I should change about this blog to to fulfill all my goals. The answer is:

Nothing

That’s right, nothing. I love the feel and flow we’ve established here. I love hearing the your comments and I don’t want to disrupt it in any way. So what then? Do I abandon the fifth goal? Do I write it off as a pipe dream? I think not. Here’s the idea: In the coming weeks I am going to start a second blog that will be purely serious.(Well, we’ll say MORE serious) Longer posts, less often updated, and no obligation on you, the viewer, to be fans of both. (in other words my feelings won’t be hurt if you don’t like it)
